Who doesn’t love a good cat liner? At HB HQ the general consensus is the bigger the flick, the better! Although we love the classic liner look, sometimes there are new trends that are just too gorgeous to resist – not to mention we’re fans of switching up our makeup game whenever an opportunity arises. Fortunately, this fall the runways were literally dripping with stunning liner looks that will take your makeup game to a whole new level. For the days when getting out your eyeshadow seems way too much drama to handle, these stunning new liner trends will give your look a major refresh instead. Don’t be scared to get creative!
DOLL-LIKE EYES

We’re literally dying over how cute this playful, accentuated-glitter-lashes look is – such a pretty look for fall. Even better, it’s super easy to do: just grab a fine eyeliner and accentuate your natural bottom lashes with small flicks. If you feel like adding a little sparkle, separate the bold black lines with glitter.
DITCH THE FLICK

Forget about perfect precision, ditch the flick and go for this rounded look instead! This thick-edged eyeliner is the answer we’ve been waiting for to hide our clumsy cat liner flicks! Seen on the runways at Jason Wu and Tom Ford, this liner is like a super edgy, grungy smoky-eye, and we love it.
FLOATING CUT CREASE

We’ve been dying over the floating cut crease on IG for a while now, but we’re loving the colorful, bold update showcased on the Prabal Gurung runway. Stray away from your lash line with a floating cut crease; it can be natural and sexy with a simple high-cat liner, or playful with different colored liners and bright hues.
FIERCE FELINE LINER

Easy, sassy, and the definition of fierce, this liner came to slay on the fall runway. Seen on the catwalks at Miu Miu and on a ton of It-girls, this liner is the easiest way to update your look for fall partying. To recreate the look, take a liquid liner and start at the middle of your eyelid and draw a line all the way from the center of your lid to your brow bone (towards the end of the brow), and fill in.
BIG BOLD KOHL

It’s time to leave the liquid eyeliner inside your make up bag and grab your khol – the bigger the pencil, the better! We’ve had it drummed into us for a long time that lining your eyes all the way around will make them look smaller, but Alexander Wang showed us we were SO wrong. This look is definitely cool, and we think the smudgier the better! If you have big eyes, don’t forget to trace the inside of the waterline, as well as all around the lash edges; if you’re cautious, play with dark brown liner on your lower lash line.
